Dr. Steven Plotkin, an Associate Professor at UBC in Physics will be giving a lecture on the mysteries of biophysics he and his lab are trying to uncover.
Date: Wednesday Oct 30 Time: 5:30 PM Location: Hennings 309
"We do research at the interface of physics and biology.
Our interests range from the study of dynamics and disorder in the theory of protein folding, misfolding, and aggregation, to DNA function and dynamics, to studies of pattern formation and symmetry breaking in morphogenesis."

The UBC Biophysics Student Society offers support for both the academic and social aspects of our students.
The field of Biophysics contains many different areas ranging from molecules to proteins to organisms. With such diverse range of topics, the laws of physics that apply to each topic is equally varied. Therefore, Biophysics brings together many different topics of physics to bear into the investigation of biological matter.
